Alumnus Kelvin Tang Wins Championship at the 6th Fou Ts’ong International Concerto Competition

Our alumnus, Kelvin Tang, recently won the championship at the 6th Fou Ts’ong International Concerto Competition held in Boston. According to a report by Sing Tao Daily, the designated piece for this year’s competition was the German Romantic master Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major.
In the finals, Kelvin demonstrated philosophical depth and control beyond his years. He earned rave reviews from local music critics, who praised his performance for its “rich and mellow tone, and profound emotional layers.” While showcasing astonishing technical mastery, he consistently maintained a poetic singing quality and sublime humanistic care.
