Precisely for this reason, he invites us to embrace hope, to become pilgrims of hope, and to refuse the boredom of standing still.

Our school is a place that gives “love and hope.” We want every student to recognize their goals and keep moving forward. Like pilgrims, even when the journey is demanding and difficult, we take one step at a time—experiencing God’s love, teachers’ guidance, and peers’ support; along the way, we admire the scenery, harvest friendship and trust, and gather memories that last a lifetime. “Love and hope” are not slogans; they are daily actions.

To live this out, we continue to cultivate both our curriculum and our culture:

Interdisciplinary learning for a connected world: The world is one; subject boundaries largely serve administrative needs. We promote interdisciplinary learning across domains and integrate cross-curricular English so students learn practical academic English through games and activities—learning by doing and making meaningful connections.

Unleashing potential through gifted education: With dedicated mentoring and self-directed learning strategies, around 100 students participated in the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and university-based gifted programs—amounting to about one-sixth of our student body, well above the Hong Kong average in 2024/25. We believe intellectual potential must be discovered and enriched; confidence can be cultivated and transferred across subjects and life situations.

Technology-enabled, human-centered: We leverage AI to support personalized learning for every student. Our STEAM curriculum nurtures problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking—skills essential for the 21st century. Equally important, STEAM must be anchored in humanistic care: applying what we learn to serve the community and address real needs.

Whole-person formation: Through Big Brother–Big Sister mentoring programme, LevelMind@JC project, and the daily practice of Examen of Consciousness, we help students build healthy minds, learn to focus, and also to relax—so they grow up healthily with a balance between study and life.

Global horizons: “As wide as the world is, so wide should our hearts be.” We organize study tours and exchanges to broaden students’ perspectives, immerse them in diverse cultures, and inspire personal growth and openness.

All this is possible because our faculty work with unity, generosity, and tireless dedication. If it means taking one more step for our students, we will take it. I firmly believe that success breeds success: many small successes, accumulated over time, lead to great success.

Peter Drucker once said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” For our team, the best way to predict the future is to “co-create” it. The future does not belong to any one person; it belongs to all who are willing to journey and to serve.

In the spirit of the Jubilee of Hope, may we all become “pilgrims of hope”. Under God’s protection and guidance, may our school continue to offer every student and every parent love and care, and may we create a bright future together. God bless you all.

Ms. Cheng Suk Wah, Principal

This year is the Jubilee of Hope, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” The late Pope Francis reminded us at World Youth Day 2024 that one of the greatest challenges facing today’s young people is “fatigue”—a tendency to lie flat, avoid striving toward goals, and remain within the comfort zone.
